Our Junior Wildcats Athletics Program currently has the following offerings:

  • 3rd & 4th grade girls volleyball (girls in 2nd can be included if the number of participants is appropriate for including younger athletes)
We meet on Saturday mornings during the volleyball season for a progressive style camp. The group is led by a group of volunteer coaches who focus on teaching basic volleyball skills, offense and defensive positioning, game strategy as well as good sportsmanship. We cover all the basic skills in the first session so we can “put it all together” as early as the end of the first session. We play skill and team-building games, do scrimmage-like play. Playing a match is not a part of the camp as the focus on the program is to provide these athletes with the basic skills and knowledge of the game to be ready to engage in game play starting in 5th grade.
  • 1st & 2nd grade boys and girls basketball
We meet on Saturday afternoons during the basketball season for a progressive style camp. The group is led by a group of volunteer coaches who focus on teaching basic basketball skills, offense and defensive positioning, game strategy as well as good sportsmanship. We work up to doing skills & shooting games, game-like play, playing 1 on 1, 2 on 2, and if the progress of the camp allows, doing some scrimmage play. Playing score-keeping games is not a part of the camp as the focus of the program is to provide these athletes with the basic skills and understanding of the game so they are ready to engage in game play starting in 3rd grade.
